It is an immense pleasure to me to say welcome to all to Raja Birendra Chandra College, Kandi, Murshidabad. The college is situated on the west bank of 'Shyam Sagar' (‘Nachpukur’) near ‘Radhaballav Mandir’ of Rajbati premises in the heart of the Kandi town and few minutes walking distance from Kandi bus stand. It’s east facing look showing natural beauty on one hand and it's calm and quiet environment suits for academic atmosphere on the other hand. The college started its Journey in the name of Kandi Raj College of Commerce in 1965 affiliated to the University of Calcutta with only commerce stream (B.Com) in the premises of Kandi Raj College, Kandi, Murshidabad. Initially it was evening college. The name of the college was changed as Raja Birendra Chandra College of Commerce in 1973. Later on the college has been appeared as morning college. The college was shifted from Kandi Raj College premises to present site in 1998 and affiliated to the University of Kalyani in the same year and again renamed as Raja Birendra Chandra College in 2002 having both Arts (B.A.) and Commerce (B.Com) stream. Now the college has been running in the day stream with a number of subjects with well motivated, energetic and qualified faculty members and experienced ministerial staffs.

We are respectful and responsible to the society as well as to the nation. A huge number of students come every year in this college from lower-mediocre/ economically poor family. All are welcome and we shall try our best to enlighten him/her as a complete human being.

In this modern era of information technology it is very much obvious that a higher educational institution must have its own website. By this anybody can easily get an overall idea about the institution. We have been updating the website regularly providing latest information for stakeholders.

Constructive suggestions from students, teachers, guardians, local bodies and well wishers will always be welcomed. I hope in course of time, the college will spread its several branches and will bloom variously showing its beauty and aroma in the society with the cooperation and goodness of all sections of people. With best wishes -
